Superior Suprarenal Artery

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

The superior suprarenal artery is one of the blood vessels which arises from the inferior phrenic artery. It carries oxygenated blood and supplies de suprarenal gland (adrenal gland). The number of superior suprarenal arteries depends on the individual and can vary widely; from three to twenty small branches may come off the inferior phrenic artery. But they can also originate as direct branches from the aorta, celiac, or superior renal polar, or from a second inferior phrenic.
