Great Hammerhead Shark

The great hammerhead shark, scientifically known as Sphyma mokarran, is a large shark which is widely distributed around the globe, living in tropical ocean waters. It feeds on crustaceans, mollusks, bony fish, and other type of sharks. It reproduces only once every two years. Although the adult can measure up to 6 m long, the great hammerhead shark is a fast swimmer. It has two dorsal fins; a large distinctive one sticking out from the middle of its back, and a small second located near its tail.
