Hexocyclium Methylsulfate

Hexocyclium methylsulfate is a quarternary ammonium salt used in the management of peptic ulcer and certain others gastrointestinal disorders associated with gastric hyperacidity and intestinal hypermotility. Sold under the brand name of Tral, it is an effective anticholinergic agent, which inhibits gastric secretion and gastrointestinal motility.

Contraindications

Hexocyclium methylsulfate is contraindicated in patients with angle-closure glaucoma, pyloric stenosis, protatic hypertrophy, and cardiospasm.
