The longest river in Europe is the Volga River, with a length of 3,692 km. It arises in the Valdai Hills, Central Russia, and flows southwards into the Caspian Sea. It is also the largest river according to its water volume. With important tributaries, such as the Oka and Kama Rivers, the Volga constitutes the drainage basin of Russia's plain.
