Pulmonary Vein

The pulmonary vein is the blood vessel in vertebrates which carries oxygenated blood from the lungs to the heart left atrium. There are two pulmonary veins per each lung, with a total of four: two right pulmonary veins and two left pulmonary veins. Within the pericardium, their anterior surfaces are enveloped by the serous layer of this membrane.
