Sinus of Valsalva

Also known as aortic sinus, the Valsalva sinus is any of the three pouch-like dilations located in the wall of the base of the aortic artery, slightly above the aortic valve. From two of the Valsalva sinuses the coronary arteries arises. The left coronary artery originates from the left sinus of Valsalva; the right coronary artery arises from the right sinus of Valsalva. No blood vessels originated from the posterior Valsalva sinus.
