Ethotoin is a drug indicated for the control of grand mal (a severe form of epilepsy) and psychomotor seizures. Sold under the trade name of Peganone, it is chemically known as 3-ethyl-5-phenylhydantoin, which is an anticonvulsant of the hydantoin series.

Ethotoin is contraindicated in patients with hepatic abnormalities or hematologic disorderes.

Adverse reaction: nausea or vomiting has been reported after the administration of ethotoin.
